Sports Links & Thoughts

Baseball

My favorite team is the Cincinnati Reds, just about the only team I root for not located near the Hudson River. They were World Champions in 1990, which may seem like a long time ago, but compared to the hell endured by Red Sox, White Sox or Cubs fans, it's yesterday.

Major League Baseball has some work to do before the game can be truly great again. Eliminating that pathetic inter-league play would be a great start. Then get rid of the designated hitter.

If you're into stats or history, check out the Society for American Baseball Research.

Football

I love the New York Jets, the team of the future and the future is soon!! The rest of the NFL at least respects the Jets now.

Anyone who's a fan of small college football might want to stop by D3football.com.

The Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.

I also have an RPI Sports History page, which covers RPI football and hockey.

Hockey

The 1995, 2000 & 2003 Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils!!! I was raised in New Jersey and no, I don't root for the Rangers like some people from New Jersey I know. But I will be magnanimous enough to provide a link to the Rangers, as well as a link to the NHL.

The 1995 ECAC Division 1 Champions RPI Engineers.

US College Hockey Online provides excellent coverage of NCAA hockey.

I'm working on the College Hockey Historical Archives, covering the history of college hockey. It's an ongoing project with no end in sight. And again, there's the RPI Sports History page.
